POLICE OFFICER ELIGIBILITY RECRUITMENT

General Information

The Mount Horeb Police Department seeks to recruit individuals who will internalize our values of S.E.R.V.I.C.E.in every aspect of the position. The ideal candidate would have a diverse background with leadership and law enforcement experience. 

Position: Police Officer

Applications are now being accepted for the position of full-time Police Officer for the Village of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. This process will create an eligibility list for a potential opening in January 2025, pending budget approval. There is also a possibility of a lateral transfer option depending on budget approval.  Full-Time Starting wage is $33.51 per hour, with a jump to $36.67 after probation (not including education rate bump). This position includes a comprehensive benefits package with health, dental, and life insurance. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two-year associate degree or 60 college credits from an accredited Wisconsin vocational or technical school, or an equivalent accredited institution from another state
• Good physical condition and moral character
• No felony or domestic violence convictions
• U.S. citizenship
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license
• Certification or eligibility for certification with the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Board is preferred
