In the Village of Mt. Horeb, curfew laws are as follows:

 Friday & Saturday - 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Friday & Saturday - Midnight to 5:00 a.m.

What is curfew?

It is a period of time during which it is illegal for youth under the age of 18 to be in any public place (streets, gas station, supermarket, parks, etc.)

What happens if I violate curfew?

You may be given a ticket and taken home to your parent/guardian.  Tickets generally range from $5.00 to $25.00 for the first offense up to $50 to $200 for a third offense.   Your parent/guardian can also receive a ticket ranging from $25 to $200.  The cost of a ticket will vary throughout the county.

Are there exceptions to the law?

Yes.  If you are with your parent/guardian, going to or leaving from work or school, or running an errand with the permission of your parent/guardian, you may not be charged with a curfew violation.
